He knew he’d seen her. After lunch in the park. After a few drinks at the bar. In his own damn apartment. And he could hear her, too, calling his name in a whisper just above the sound of the wind. He was walking along the pier watching the sunset on the sparkling water, almost to the end, when he saw her again. Her long, brown hair blowing in the breeze. She turned to face him, but her features were fragmented.
