Two Years Later

Fear had gone now. It had not been overcome or reasoned away. Something substantially more meaningful had taken its place, namely, confidence and trust, the rediscovered twin anchors, that were happily and comfortably ensconced in the security of family and friends.

Matt had been trained to watch other people. Never himself. And he had come to realize that after a lifetime of living he had come to know more about other people than he had about himself. Lauded for his courage, its contemplation left...
