A makeshift stage stood in the space where women and girls had once sat to eat meals together. Logs that had served as benches were put in service as the base of the stage. Smooth, uniformly flat wooden planks were being laid on top of the logs. The Daughters had taken shelves from their library to create a wide platform and ramp.
